Day One
September 15, 2021
Dear members and friends of Grace North Church:
I write you with great joy and gratitude after my first day serving as your interim
pastor.
I am in awe of the adventure that lies before us over the next 18 months! My most favorite words in scripture come from Jacob after he woke up from his dream. What did he see in his dream? Angels ascended and descended between heaven and earth. Then, like his parents, Isaac and Rebecca, and grandparents, Abraham and Sarah, he heard the promises of the Holy One - not only for abundance, but to always be with him. Together you and I will remember how God has always been with us and our spiritual ancestors. Like Jacob, we will be transformed into the people the Holy One needs us to become. Why? So that our legacy of healing our piece of the Beloved Community will extend out into the lives of those needing it now. The Creative Spirit will teach us new ways to connect with others and new ways to live into the heart of God together.
My initial focus will be on getting to know you better, as individuals and as groups of people whose ministries change lives. To that end, I invite you to attend one of three Zoom gatherings at our normal link:
